The two people of interest in a deadly north Madison shooting were taken into custody at a Dane County park Wednesday, an official said.
Dane County Sheriff’ Dave Mahoney said deputies received a tip from a truck stop next door to Token Creek Park in DeForest about the two people police were seeking in the shooting death of 24-year-old Ciara Philumalee.
Deputies chased Jennifer L. Lovick, 34, and Korey V. Johnson, 33, in the park and arrested them, Mahoney said.
Philumalee was shot in the head just before 1:45 a.m. Friday near the 3700 block of West Karstens Drive and died at a hospital. A 44-year-old man was also found with a gunshot wound to the jaw. He had fled the scene of the shooting before first responders found him, police said.
