Urban Triage, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable families and individuals, is partnering with ECHO Suites, located on Madison’s East Side, to provide emergency housing for individuals experiencing homelessness.
This initiative builds on the strong partnership between Urban Triage and ECHO Suites Madison and is part of Dane County’s Rapid Rehousing Program, Urban Triage said in a press release, which provides immediate assistance to help individuals and families transition into safe, stable housing.
“Every day our team meets with people experiencing homelessness who are facing
significant barriers to housing,” said Brandi Grayson, founder and CEO of Urban
Triage. “Our role goes far beyond referrals. We are case managers, advocates, and
often the only direct point of access to critical resources. We walk alongside our
clients, helping them navigate complex systems, securing the essentials they
need — sometimes as basic as a cell phone to stay connected—and making sure they
are never alone in the process.”
Two individuals have already moved into ECHO Suites, with two more in the
process of securing housing there. Through this partnership, Urban Triage can
provide housing for some of Dane County’s hardest-to-house individuals for up to
12 months. Urban Triage covers three months of rent while surrounding residents
with wraparound support that addresses barriers to stability — from job placement to
obtaining critical documents, to making calls and advocating on their behalf.
ECHO Suites is located at 4717 Eastpark Blvd..
