The Washington Wizards selected former University of Wisconsin shooting guard Johnny Davis with the 10th pick of the NBA Draft on Thursday night.
In April, the 6-foot-5 sophomore guard became the first Wisconsin Badger to ever win the Jerry West Award. Davis was also named a consensus first-team All-American, the Big Ten Player of the Year, and was the recipient of the Lute Olson Player of the Year award. He averaged 19.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals in 31 games as he helped lead the Badgers to a share of the Big 10 regular-season title.
The Wizards finished with a 34-38 record in the 2021-22 season, landing in eighth place in the Eastern Conference and bowing out of the playoffs in the first round, losing 4-1 to the Philadephia 76ers.
