Coronavirus infection continues to rage through Wisconsin today, and the consequences are being felt across the state as 36 more deaths were reported in 23 different counties.

The state of Wisconsin confirmed a record-high 3,279 new coronavirus cases Monday on just over 14,500 tests. Those results bring the total case count to 155,471, of which just over 30,000 are considered active, about 500 more than yesterday.

Additionally, 36 more fatalities were reported — six in Outagamie County, three in Brown County, two each in Dane, Langlade, Milwaukee, Richland, Taylor, Washington and Ashland Counties, and one each in Chippewa, Douglas, Eau Claire, Florence, Fond du Lac, Forest, Grant, Jefferson, Kewaunee, La Crosse, Marathon, Vernon, Waupaca and Wood Counties. Two deaths previously reported in Lincoln and Manitowoc Counties were removed from the data, so Wisconsin’s total death toll rose by 34 to 1,508.

Our seven-day average of deaths is now 15.57.

Wisconsin’s seven-day of positive tests by person rose from 19.1 percent to 19.6, the highest rate yet.
