Madison families will have a chance to celebrate soccer, culture and community at the 10th annual Día de Fútbol on Saturday, Oct. 3, at Leopold Community School, hosted by Madison Gas & Electric (MGE).
The free family event will feature soccer clinics and activities, cultural performances, food, community resources and opportunities to learn about education and careers.
This year’s event also expands its community partnerships, with Madison College and Leopold Elementary School joining as partners. Madison College will offer attendees opportunities to explore higher education and career paths, including interactive virtual reality experiences that provide a look at different careers.
“Día de Fútbol uses the universal love of soccer to connect families with culture, education, careers, resources, and community,” said Madison College Community Impact Lead Nicole Sandoval in a press release. “The event reflects the power of partnership and demonstrates what can happen when community organizations, schools, businesses, and higher education come together to create meaningful opportunities for families.”
In addition to soccer clinics and activities, attendees can enjoy cultural performances by Ballet Folklórico and visit local organizations offering community resources.
Food will be available from El Chisme, Los Gemelos and Donut Cart. Madison Gas and Electric will also provide activities focused on energy efficiency, sustainability and education.
Día de Fútbol is free and open to kids and their families. For more information, click here.
