In honor of Multicultural Mental Health Month, NAMI Dane County, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and UW-Madison Department Of Psychology proudly present a free, public screening of “MIND/GAME: The Unquiet Journey of Chamique Holdslaw” on Tuesday, July 17, 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the UW Psychology Bldg., Rm. 107, 1202 W. Johnson Street. Q&A to follow, light refreshments will be served. Free parking in lot 56 across the street.
Directed by Rick Goldsmith and narrated by Glenn Close, MIND/GAME is the riveting story of outstanding WNBA all-star Chamique Holdslaw who was once dubbed “the female Michael Jordan.” Holdslaw was a popular student on a full athletic scholarship at the University of Tennessee where she played basketball for the Lady Volunteers and Hall of Fame coach Pat Summit. Her stellar career included leading the Lady Volunteers to 3 straight NCAA Championships, being No. 1 pick in the 1999 WNBA Draft by the Washington Mystics, WNBA Rookie of the Year, 6 WMBA All-Star Appearances, and winning an Olympic Gold Medal.
