American Family Insurance Chief Marketing Officer Telisa Yancy joins Barack and Michelle Obama, Lupe Fiasco, Michael Jordan, Beyonce, and more on the Ebony Magazine Power 100 list for 2016.

Yancy was chosen in the “corporate crowns” category, recognizing excellence in business leadership. Ebony will celebrate the 2016 honorees at a special event in Los Angeles on Dec. 1.

Yancy, a Chicago native, was promoted from vice president to CMO in May. She currently controls almost $200 million in advertising, including a new campaign featuring John Legend and former New York Yankee Derek Jeter.

For more than 70 years, EBONY has honored “the heroes of the black community,” and the 2016 EBONY Power 100 celebrates “the world’s most inspiring African-Americans and recognizes those who lead, inspire and demonstrate through their individual talents, the very best in black America.”
