Ananda Mirilli has been selected to serve as a member of the Madison Area
Technical College District Board of Trustees, the college announced in a press release Monday. Her term will continue through June 30, 2019.

Mirilli received an associate degree in Human Services from Madison College and she went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Upper Iowa University and a master’s degree in Education Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Since August, Mirilli has served as Education Equity Consultant for the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Prior to that she was the Family, Youth and Community Coordinator for the Madison Metropolitan School District. Other previous positions include work for the YWCA and Centro Hispano.

“I often describe my time at the college as one of my most life-changing experiences,” she said in a statement. “I had the opportunity to explore my interests and create a vision of my own educational journey. Through my ability to engage in meaningful relationships and support the work and leadership of racial/ethnic equity, I believe I can further the Madison College mission.”

The nine-member Madison College District Board functions as a collective body that is the official link between the college and the communities it serves.
