Urban Triage will host a free community pop-up event Saturday, Aug. 22, at 12:30 p.m. at Elver Park on Madison’s West Side, bringing Madison-area neighbors together for an afternoon of food, family activities, community resources and connection.
The event is open to everyone, whether attendees are looking to learn about community resources, meet new people, spend time with family or simply enjoy a summer afternoon at one of Madison’s parks.
“Community is about showing up for one another and creating spaces where people can connect, feel supported and know that they belong,” said Brandi Grayson, CEO of Urban Triage, in a press release. “This event is an opportunity to bring people together, build relationships and remind ourselves that we are stronger when we are connected. That’s the kind of community we want to keep building.”
The event will feature free food and cold drinks, outdoor games, family-friendly activities, community resources and information. Attendees will also have an opportunity to meet Urban Triage staff and connect with their neighbors.
“At Urban Triage, building community is central to its work. The organization’s pop-up events create welcoming spaces where neighbors can connect, families can spend quality time together, and individuals can learn about resources that support housing, wellness, youth development, and community empowerment,” Urban Triage said in a press release announcing the event.
A selection of Less Noise Wellness products will also be available for purchase at the event. Founded by Brandi Grayson and Urban Triage, Less Noise uses Wisconsin-grown, full-spectrum organic hemp and purchases to support Urban Triage’s agricultural initiatives, including land-based learning, community food access, and economic opportunities for program participants.
