Anne & Josh Thundercloud to be Rotary Club of Madison’s guest speakers Nov. 1

Two members of the Ho-Chunk Nation, Anne and Josh Thundercloud, will be the guest speakers at the luncheon meeting of the Rotary Club of Madison on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at the Park Hotel in downtown Madison.

Josh Thundercloud has been a singer for over 40 years. His sister, Anne Thundercloud, a singer and dancer, has been performing with her brothers and family across the United States for over four decades. Anne Thundercloud is also a public relations consultant and a chef apprentice with Wild Bearies, a non-profit organization specializing in Indigenous foods.

The Rotary Club of Madison (also known as Downtown Rotary) is made up of over 400 business and professional leaders and is one of the largest service clubs in the world.

At the Nov. 1 luncheon, the Thunderclouds will provide an introduction to Native American Pow-Wows, according to a press release from the Rotary Club of Madison, and Josh Thundercloud will explain the importance of the drum beat, which is considered the heartbeat of Mother Earth.

The speaker’s presentation will begin at approximately 12:35 pm and will conclude by 1:05 pm. Rotary luncheons are not open to the public. For more information, click here.
