Boys and Girls Club of Dane County (BGCDC) and the Black Men Coalition of Dane County will distribute 400 holiday meals, gift cards, toys and more today to community families at local clubs throughout Dane County.

“We just really want to be there to help the community however we can over the holidays.” Laura Ford-Harris, Chief Development Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County, told Madison365 in a recent article.

BGCDC recently partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank to distribute hundreds of Thanksgiving meals to people in the community. On Dec. 16, BGCDC took over 30 families on shopping sprees at Metcalfe’s Market and Target to provide support during the holiday season. BGCDC also gave away a new car to one lucky Madisonian.

At today’s holiday celebration, registered families will receive face masks for family members, hand sanitizers and a family-size meal filled with a family-sized ham and all the fixings needed for a delicious holiday meal. The first 100 families will receive gift cards that range from $5 to $25 dollars and two lucky families will be entered into a drawing for a shopping spree.

The fun will be happening today between 3-6 p.m. at the following places: McKenzie Family Club, 232 Windsor Street, Sun Prairie; Taft Street Club, 2001 Taft Street; and Allied Family Center, 4619 Jenewein Road, Fitchburg.

On Monday, Dec. 21, 3-6 p.m. there will be a meal distribution at the Walworth County Club, 414 Beloit St. in Delavan, Wis.

BGCDC still needs volunteers today and Monday. If you or someone you know are able to help, please register here.
