Democratic nominee Joe Biden met Thursday afternoon with the family of Jacob Blake, the 29-year-old Black man who was shot in the back seven times by police in Kenosha.

Biden met with Blake’s father and mother, his brother and sister, and a few members of his legal team at the Milwaukee airport.

Biden told reporters Wednesday he has received “overwhelming requests” from Democratic leaders that he travel to Wisconsin. Biden, along with his running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris, a former attorney general, also said that Rusten Sheskey, the Kenosha police officer who shot Blake, should be criminally charged. Blake remains hospitalized and is now paralyzed.

Biden had a day of events planned in Wisconsin including a public discussion with business figures, civic leaders and law enforcement.

Biden’s trip comes two days after President Donald Trump visited Wisconsin.
