The BIPOC Mental Health Coalition (BMHC) will host a free community conference this fall dedicated to confronting the mental health disparities facing Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) youth, the organization announced on Thursday. The event will take place Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Center for Black Excellence and Culture in South Madison.
“Community members, lawmakers, service providers, parents, and youth advocates will come together to listen, learn, and discuss what BIPOC youth need from the people and systems responsible for supporting their mental health,” BMHC said in a press release. “The conference will include keynote presentations and honest conversations about access, trust, cultural understanding, and systemic barriers. Attendees will have opportunities to share perspectives, connect with local resources, and explore actions that can strengthen support for BIPOC youth across Dane County.”
Registration details will be announced soon.
