Former Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes will lead a panel titled “Community Health Initiatives: Grassroots Solutions to Health Inequities” on October 28 at the 365 Leadership Summit presented by UW Credit Union.

Highlighting successful community-led health initiatives that have made significant impacts in communities of color, this panel will explore how these models can be replicated and scaled to benefit more communities.

The seventh annual summit will take place October 28 and include more than 20 panel discussion on a wide range of topics, as well as the largest-ever 365 Leadership Community Choice Awards. Registration is open now at this link.

Mandela Barnes is the founder of The Long Run and Wisconsin’s first Black Lieutenant Governor. A graduate of Alabama A&M University with a degree in communication and media studies, Mandela has worked for the city of Milwaukee, as a community organizer, and as deputy director of strategic engagement with the State Innovation Exchange. The Long Run supports diverse pro-democracy candidates—including young, working-class, and LGBTQ+ voices—to flip swing districts and redefine what leadership looks like in America. Mandela is committed to ensuring these candidates have the resources and support needed to succeed and answer the question, “Can you win?” with a resounding “Yes!”
