Centro Hispano of Dane County will host a big opening showcase for its brand-new home on Friday, April 26, 10:30 a.m. at its new location at 2403 Cypress Way.

The new two-story, 25,000-square-foot home at the corner of Hughes Place and Cypress Way in South Madison will help Centro serve the needs of Dane County’s fast-growing Latinx community.

“The new Centro Hispano building represents a collaborative effort, with supporters and community members coming together to create a space that meets the growing needs of the Latinx community,” Centro Hispano said in a press release announcing the grand opening. “This achievement is a result of dedicated individuals and organizations believing in Centro Hispano’s mission of creating space where families can aspire upward to reach personal and professional goals while feeling engaged and strengthened with the tools for success.”

Centro Hispano, which was founded in 1983, has a mission to empower youth, strengthen families, and engage the community. Centro’s initiatives provide assistance to immigrants, foster youth leadership development, and innovative career training programs that focus on upskilling with a holistic approach to retention and advancement.

The new building marks a giant milestone for the non-profit organization. Friday’s celebration will have music, food vendors, and meaningful moments.

“Centro is excited to open the doors of its new building and welcome the community to a space that reflects our values and aspirations,” Centro Hispano said in a press release. “This big opening signifies a physical expansion and a deeper commitment to serving and uplifting the community, providing a home where hopes and dreams can live.”

Friday’s grand opening and ribbon cutting are open to the public. The inauguration ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. Attendees can park at 810 W Badger Road, Park Bank (2401 S Park Street) and Madison College (2429 Perry Street).
