The 11th seeded Loyola-Chicago Ramblers are going to the Elite Eight after defeating Nevada 69-68 in the Sweet 16 to continue their improbable run in the NCAA tournament. The Ramblers’ Marques Townes hit a clutch three pointer with 6.3 seconds remaining to sink Nevada. Towns finished the game with 18 points and did the Ramblers patron saint, Sister Jean, proud.
Meanwhile, 9-seed Kansas State pulled off a monumental upset of Kentucky, defeating the Wildcats 61-58 to also advance to the Elite Eight. Following the game, Kentucky players were seen showing poor sportsmanship and not congratulating the Kansas State players.
Florida State, also a number 9 seed defeated Gonzaga 75-60 and Michigan continued its juggernaut roll by defeating upstart Texas A&M 99-72.
