Coronavirus infection continues to rage through Wisconsin today, and the consequences are being felt across the state as 28 more deaths were reported in 19 different counties. It is the second-highest number of deaths reported in a single day, after yesterday’s record-setting 36. The total death toll in Wisconsin is now 1,536.

Additionally, hospitalizations broke 1,000 for the first time, reaching 1,017, 58 more than yesterday and 144 more than a week ago.

The state of Wisconsin also confirmed a near-record-high 3,107 new coronavirus cases Monday on just over 14,500 tests. Those results bring the total case count to 158,578, of which nearly 31,600 are considered active, about 1,600 more than yesterday.
