Dane County grows by 25 more cases, most in young people and children

Dane County confirmed 25 new coronavirus cases this morning, bringing the County’s total to 4,869. As of this morning, the total number of recovered was listed as 4,201.

Dane County’s death toll from COVID-19 remained at 39 this morning while today’s total number of people ever hospitalized grew to 313. Currently, there are 21 people hospitalized for coronavirus while seven of those are in the ICU.

Today’s highest concentration of cases were among those in their 30s and younger with seven cases for those in their 30s, six in those aged 10-19, five for adults in their 20s and four reported for children 0-9. Additionally, there was two additional cases reported for adults in their 60s and one in their 70s.

The most updated data on positive test percentage for a day is for August 16, with the positive test percentage reported as 1.3 percent while August 15 is now at 1.84 percent. The positive percentage for August 14 has been updated to 2.1 percent and August 13 at 1.9 percent. Madison365 expects that these numbers will be adjusted as more negative and positive tests are fully processed and attributed to the appropriate dates in the coming days.
