Dane Dances, held on the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center Rooftop every Friday in August, has been canceled tonight due to the forecasted storms and concerns for rooftop safety, the City of Madison announced on Friday.

Orquesta Salsoul Del Mad and Luisito Rosario were scheduled to perform tonight. This will be the second week in a row that Dane Dances, one of Madison’s most diverse summertime events that annually brings together people of all ages, races, and ethnicities, was canceled due to weather.

Dane Dances kicked off its 23rd season on Friday, Aug. 5, at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center rooftop with salsa band Latin Pride Orquesta and the Eddie Butts Band.

Next Friday, Aug. 26, Dane Dances will feature the funk, hip-hop, and jazz artistry of Sisters of Element and the Storm Chasers with special guest T.L. Williams at 6 p.m. and Sounds of Slave at 8 p.m.
