This coming August 2020, unfortunately, there will be no Dane Dances on the Monona Terrace Community Center rooftop every Friday night. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, “A Season of Love” has been postponed until August 2021.

“For now, we want to thank this year’s sponsors. We want to thank and help the musicians, bands, DJs, and food vendors who are experiencing financial losses because of the pandemic,” Dane Dances organizers said in a press release. “Lastly, we want to thank everyone who has come to the dances in the past and who was looking forward to this community event.”

Dane Dances is a nonprofit community organization conceived in 1999 out of the recommendations of the Mayor’s Taskforce on Race Relations by Madisonians who wanted to break down ethnic and racial divides and allow people the space to have fun and enjoy themselves outside of the social issues surrounding the community.
