Donald Dantzler Jr. joins One City Schools as vice president of strategic partnerships

Donald Dantzler Jr. has been named the new vice president of strategic partnerships for One City Schools, the school announced Monday.

“Donald brings a wealth of experience to our team, having most recently served as an Associate Research Scientist with the Socially Responsible Evaluation in Education Center at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and before that, as Research and Innovation Strategist for the Madison Metropolitan School District, where he supported district data needs, research, evaluation, and strategic planning efforts,” One City said in a press release. 

Dantzler has also held key leadership positions in public service, serving as both a Firchburg City Council member and as chair of the Board of Trustees for Madison College. Last month, Dantzler announced his intention to run for re-election to the Fitchburg council and a bid for the Dane County Board.

Dantzler is also a board member of the 100 Black Men of Greater Madison, Inc., and serves on the program committee for the Goodman Community Center. In 2023, Donald was recognized as a member of InBusiness Magazine’s 40 Under 40 and recently completed the Executive Leadership Program through 100 Black Men of America.  

Dantzler earned his bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in finance and his master’s degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He is presently completing his Ph.D. in educational leadership & policy analysis, with a focus on Black males in P-20 education and intervention mechanisms that foster academic success, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
