The former CEO of the Dane County Boys & Girls Club, Michael Johnson, is taking a leave of absence from his current position as the CEO of the United Way of Greater Cincinnati, according to CBS affiliate WKRC.

Johnson, who has been on the job in Cincinnati for three months, requested the leave of absence, but is still employed, United Way officials said.

He took over in July and is the first African-American to serve as CEO, officials said.

Chief Impact Officer Ross Mayer will fill in as interim CEO in the meantime. The United Way is not commenting on any issues leading up to Johnson requesting the leave of absence.
