Forward Madison FC has obtained defender Jason Ramos on loan from Minnesota United FC 2 of MLS Next Pro for the remainder of the 2023 season, pending league and federation approval.
Forward Madison adds Ramos to the backline as center back Timmy Mehl recovers from injury, having missed Saturday’s home match against One Knox SC. Ramos is the third recent acquisition, for the Flamingos, joining Ozzie Ramos, transferred from Central Valley Fuego, and Pierre da Silva, who was signed last month.
Madison is currently in fifth place in USL League One, just two points above the line to make the playoffs.
Ramos joins the Flamingos after two seasons in MLS Next Pro with MNUFC2. Making 23 appearances in the last two seasons, 24-year-old Ramos aims to provide defensive solidity to an FMFC squad looking to make the USL League One playoffs.
Ramos had a successful college career with the Cal Poly Broncos, making 42 appearances in two seasons before turning pro in 2020. Ramos’ first stop in his professional journey was in USL League One with the Chattanooga Red Wolves. Ramos was a key piece to their 2020 and 2021 squads, making 40 appearances and scoring 2 goals.
“Jason is an experienced player who has been in our league and knows the level,” Forward Madison Head Coach Matt Glaeser said in a statement. “We are happy to add in another quality player to help us in our playoff push.”
Ramos is eligible to play in the upcoming Forward Madison match on Thursday, September 14th at 7pm CT against Richmond Kickers. Tickets for the match are still available here.
