Forward Madison adds midfielder Roman Torres

Forward Madison FC has signed midfielder Roman Torres, formerly of Minnesota United FC II, pending league and federation approval.

Torres, 23, is from Dallas, Texas, and most recently played in MLS NEXT Pro with Minnesota United FC II. He was selected 25th overall in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft by Minnesota United and signed with the club’s second team before being loaned to USL Championship side Birmingham Legion FC, where he recorded two assists in 13 matches. He later returned to Minnesota United FC II and appeared in nine matches, including three MLS NEXT Pro playoff games.

Sporting Director Matt Cairns said Torres brings experience from both MLS NEXT Pro and the USL Championship and described him as a two-way midfielder. Head Coach and Technical Director Matt Glaeser said Torres’ technical ability and field awareness will support the club’s style of play.

Torres previously played in the FC Dallas Academy and had a stint in Germany with Borussia Neunkirchen before starting his college career. He made 12 appearances with Iowa Western in 2023, recording four goals and two assists, then transferred to Creighton University in 2024, where he posted three goals and two assists.

Torres said he is looking forward to contributing to the team this season.

Forward Madison opens its 2026 season on the road in Knoxville and will host its home opener May 16 against Detroit City FC at Breese Stevens Field in a Prinx Tires USL Cup match.
