USL League One today announced the Team of the Week for Week 22 of the 2023 regular season with Forward Madison FC forward Jayden Onen named Player of the Week with his two-assist week for the Mingos.
The English Premier League academy product and Uganda national team prospect enjoyed a productive Week 22. Onen started his week by assisting Stephen Payne’s match-winning score in the 90th minute of a previously scoreless match against Chattanooga on Wednesday. On Saturday, Onen added to his total with an assist on Nazeem Bartman’s equalizing score against Knoxville.
The 22-year-old Londoner was tied for a week-high with his six chances created and four shots on target. Onen also completed the most passes among all forwards in Week 22 (51) and maintained the second-best goals-added figure on the week (0.83), according to American Soccer Analysis. He also contributed four interceptions and three tackles while maintaining an 84% passing accuracy.
Onen scored his first USL League One goal last week in the Mingos 2-1 win at Richmond.
The Mingos, currently in fourth place in USL League One, next play Saturday at defending league champions South Georgia Tormenta.
