The Mystery of Black History/ The History of Hip-Hop will be held Saturday, June 18, 5-7 p.m. at the Urban League of Greater Madison, 2222 S. Park St.

Hip-Hop is more than just music or dancing: it is a culture, a way of life.

Hip-Hop is an art form that began on the street corners and in the underground clubs of New York in the 1970s and has grown faster than any other genre of music and has spread worldwide in a matter of a few decades.

We invite you to come and take a trip through Hip-Hop’s history: from the streets of New York with DJ “Herc” to the international stage with Beyonce. Brother ShaH Evans delivers the details while DJ Pain spins the sounds that tell the whole story.

This is a free community event which serves to empower, enlighten and educate. This program is part of the Urban Community Arts Network (UCAN).
