The 6-foot-8 Johnson averaged 19 points and 10 rebounds per game as a sophomore last season as he helped Sun Prairie reach the WIAA Division 1 state tournament for the first time. The second-ranked Cardinals lost in overtime in the state semifinal to Brookfield East, 52-50, at the Kohl Center.
One of the top basketball recruits in the 2020 class, a few schools that Johnson has received interest from already are Duke, North Carolina, Kansas and Wisconsin.
Johnson’s little brother, Kobe Johnson, an incoming sophomore, is also transferring to Nicolet.
