Jordan Roman, a Milwaukee community advocate, has announced a campaign for the Wisconsin State Assembly seat representing District 12 in northwest Milwaukee County.

Roman’s platform centers on three areas: economic security, including housing affordability and support for small businesses; public safety with an emphasis on mental health services and community-based violence prevention; and increased funding for Wisconsin schools along with expanded career and technical education.

“Resilience shouldn’t be a requirement for survival. We deserve our fair share of state resources to ensure that as Wisconsin grows, the people who have been here all along actually benefit from that progress,” Roman said in a statement.

Roman will face incumbent Russell Goodwin in the Democratic primary in August.

The campaign says it plans to hold a series of community meetings across the district this month. More information is available at romanforwi.com.
