The Madison Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. are extending the deadline one week to apply for their scholarships to Monday, March 9. The scholarships, for graduating African-American male and female high school seniors, are worth $1,500 each.

For more than 40 years in the Madison area, the Deltas have been working on different health initiatives, educational initiatives, economic development initiatives, art initiatives and more.

Scholarships will be awarded in three categories:

1. Academic: Scholarships awarded in this category will be based primarily on the students’ academic record, including GPA, ACT/SAT scores, and class rigor.

2. Community Service: Scholarships awarded in this category will be based primarily on the students’ record of community service.

3. Leadership: Scholarships awarded in this category will be based primarily on the students’ leadership roles in both school and community.

The application deadline is March 9, 2020.
