The Madison Arts Commission has announced its largest-ever call for existing works of art. Madison’s Public Art Program is establishing a list of pre-qualified visual and public art for upcoming municipal projects and this database will serve as a key resource for purchasing, loaning, licensing, and commissioning public artwork throughout Madison.

Selected artwork will be considered for public art opportunities in various City divisions and departments, according to a press release from the City of Madison. While submitting artwork does not guarantee a purchase, loan, license, or commission, the resulting list of pre-qualified artworks will expedite the art acquisition process.

Artists working across all media are encouraged to apply with images of 2- or 3-dimensional, digital, or time-based works. Artists can submit up to 10 artworks each year. For more information, click here.

Applications that are submitted by noon on Friday, Feb. 14, will be considered during the first round of existing art database reviews at the Madison Arts Commission meeting on Feb. 19.
