Vander Blue was named the MVP for the entire tournament as Fiat Torino won the national Italian Basketball Cup for the first time in its history on Feb. 18 defeating Germani Brescia, 69-67.

The Italian Basketball Cup (Coppa Italiana di Pallacanestro, or Coppa Italia), is an annual professional basketball competition between pro clubs from the Italian Basketball League LBA. It is Italy’s first-tier cup competition.

Blue, who graduated from Memorial in 2010 and played three years for Marquette, signed a deal earlier this month for the remainder of the season with Fiat Torino, or Fiat Turin, an Italian professional basketball club that is based in Turin, Piedmont.
