Milwaukee Bucks to Honor Wisconsin’s 35 Most Influential Black Leaders for Black History Month

The Milwaukee Bucks have invited everyone listed in Madison365’s “Black Power 2017” to celebrate Black History Month with them as they host the New Orleans Pelicans on February 25.

The state’s most influential Black leaders as named by Madison365 include corporate and government executives, change agents, athletes and coaches, and more. To honor and recognize their accomplishments, the Bucks will host them for a VIP game experience in the ULINE Suite and recognize them on-court during that afternoon’s game.

“Wisconsin has produced and attracted really impressive Black leaders who wield a lot of influence in the economy, the government and our communities,” said Bucks Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility Alicia Dupies. “We’re thrilled that Madison365 gave these impressive individuals the recognition they deserve, and we’re proud that one of them is a member of the Bucks family. We’re also proud to recognize and honor them in our own way, during a time when the entire nation celebrates the heritage and contributions of Black Americans throughout history.”

Bucks player Giannis Antetokounmpo made this year’s list for his MVP-caliber performance this season, which has sparked excitement in Bucks fans. Head coach Jason Kidd made the list in 2016.

“The Milwaukee Bucks’ commitment to inclusion and diversity shows from the makeup of their ownership group and leadership team to hosting events like this,” said Madison365 Publisher and CEO Henry Sanders. “They’re going out of their way to help us celebrate and honor a group of people who rarely get the spotlight. We’re looking forward to spending a great day with them.”

This is the third year that Madison365 has recognized Wisconsin’s most influential Black leaders and the second year that the Bucks have hosted an event to honor them.
