The Milwaukee Board of School Directors on Thursday night voted to appoint Eduardo Galvan as interim superintendent of schools.

Galvan has years of distinguished leadership in educational administration serving as regional superintendent in the Southwest Region from 2018 to June of this year when the Milwaukee Board of School Directors selected him as acting superintendent.

Galvan earned his bachelor’s degree at Carroll College (now Carroll University) and holds a master’s degree from National Louis University.

Galvan had been serving as acting superintendent since June taking over from previous superintendent Keith Posley who resigned after serving as superintendent since 2018. Galvan will serve as the district’s interim superintendent while the board conducts a national search for a more permanent superintendent
