Milwaukee resident Karra Falkenstein, will be seen testing her survival skills on a new episode of Discovery Channel’s reality tv show, Naked and Afraid.

The show teams up one male and one female competitor to use their combined survivalist abilities to make it for 21 days without food, water or clothing in dangerous terrains around the world.

Falkenstein, 36, partially credits “her difficult childhood in Milwaukee” for helping her survive her 21-day challenge in Jalapao, Brazil, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Outside of working as an IT developer in Madison, Falkenstein teaches naked yoga and enjoys doing obstacle courses and marathons.

To prepare for the challenge Falkenstein stopped getting pedicures once she applied for the show in 2015 and began to walk barefoot by the Milwaukee River instead.

Her episode was filmed last summer and will air Sunday at 9 p.m.

She hopes to inspire other women to trust their inner strength.

“If you hunker down, you can get through anything. Even if you’re naked and afraid,” she told the Journal Sentinel.
