The NFL is planning to allow players to wear helmet decals bearing names or initials of victims of systemic racism and police violence, a league source said.

Since June, the NFL has been in talks with individual players and their union about somehow honoring victims of racism and police violence. According to CNN, teams will have a choice to honor one specific name or several names and all 32 NFL teams will feature the decals.

A list of names for use on the helmet decals is being put together by the league and the NFLPA.

The 2020-21 NFL season is scheduled to start Thursday, Sept. 10.
