Nominations are now being sought for the 53rd annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Awards, the City of Madison and Dane County have announced.
The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award is presented annually to individuals who have demonstrated leadership and volunteerism and made significant contributions to promoting peace and understanding and improving communication and cooperation among diverse populations in Dane County.
The commission recognizes individuals in the Madison community who have made outstanding contributions in the spirit of brotherhood, sisterhood and harmony and helped make the city an ideal place to live. Awards are presented each year during the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration.
The nomination deadline is Friday, Nov. 13, 4:30 p.m.
