Madison police are investigating reports of shots fired just off the Beltline on Stoughton Road.
Dane County dispatch said they received a call around 1:50 p.m. reporting multiple shots fired in the intersection of Broadway and Stoughton Road.
Witnesses reported seeing someone firing bullets at another vehicle, officials said. Initial reports suggest 10 to 12 rounds were fired.
Officers have recovered multiple shell casings from the road. No injuries have been reported as of 3 p.m., officials said.
Dispatchers said another active police scene in the area of Buckeye Road and the Interstate may be connected to the shots fired call.
Officials have at least one lane of southbound Stoughton Road closed near that intersection.
