The state of Wisconsin reported 57 COVID deaths on Thursday, putting the state’s total death toll at 3,944. An additional 75 people have tested positive for COVID but died of other causes. The seven-day daily death average slipped slightly from 55 to 54.6 while the 14-day average fell by one to 50.

Meanwhile the state reported 4,034 new coronavirus cases on just over 12,500 tests, for a daily positive test rate of about 32 percent.

The seven-day positive rate for all people tested fell from 29.5 to 28.7, and the positive rate for all tests fell from 12.8 to 12.3. The number of active cases continued its steady decline and is now just over 52,250 — about 12.3 percent of the 426,099 total cases the state has confirmed to date.

The seven-day average of new cases per day fell slightly to 3,591.

The number of people hospitalized with COVID19 also continued to fall, as 1,484 people are currently hospitalized, 51 fewer than yesterday and 270 fewer than a week ago. However, the number of those in intensive care rose by six to 332.
