Queens Healing Queens Book Club-Madison will take place Saturday, March 23, noon-2 p.m. at DreamBank, 821 East Washington Ave.
Queens Healing Queens book club is coming to Madison! We are a group of black women from Milwaukee who come together for the cause of healing and togetherness. We welcome allies community and legislators into our space as we learn how to work together to create equitable environments for black people.
Our book club began after two of our founding members had the opportunity to attend Michelle Obama’s opening book tour night in Chicago Nov. 13, 2018. Our first book club meeting was Dec 2018 in Milwaukee. The MKE Chapter meets once per month.
We have a few Madison book club members who travel to MKE for meetings and we feel the need to meet them where they are. Queens Healing Queens would like to engage with you and discuss our first book club read, “Becoming” by Michelle Obama.
This is a social book club. Please come prepared to discuss the book, meet new people, make new friends, promote your business, be given hugs and leave feeling uplifted. Light snacks and drinks will be served. We will decide at our first meeting what pace is good for our group.
