US Representative Mark Pocan (D-Wisconsin), 53, who represents the Madison area in the United State Congress, underwent successful triple bypass surgery today, according to a Facebook post from the Congressman.
The surgery was a “a preemptive measure to a cardiac issue,” the Facebook post said.
“The surgery went well and Mark is looking forward to a speedy recovery so he can return to Washington soon to continue fighting for the people of Wisconsin,” the post said.
“Phil and Mark are grateful for all of the messages of support from friends and the community, as well as the work of Dr. Takushi Kohmoto and his team at UnityPoint Health – Meriter,” the post concluded, referring to Pocan’s husband of 11 years, Phil Frank.
