Wisconsin Badger basketball star forward Nigel Hayes has announced his intentions to enter the NBA draft.

A UW source confirmed a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports Wednesday morning that said Hayes will enter the draft. Hayes will not sign with an agent, however, meaning he can withdraw his name and return to UW for his senior season.

The NBA draft combine is set to be held May 11-May 15 in Chicago. Hayes, who has yet to receive an invitation to the combine, will get ready for the NBA draft which is set for June 23. May 25 will be the last chance he will have to return to the collegiate ranks for one more go.

Hayes is coming off of what can be considered a disappointing season where he averaged 15.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game but he made just 29.3 percent of his three-pointers and 36.8 percent of his field-goal attempts overall shooting very poorly down the stretch for the Badgers including Wisconsin’s three NCAA tournament games.

As a sophomore, Hayes averaged 12.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game and made 39.6 percent of his three-pointers and 50.2 percent of his field-goal attempts overall as he helped lead the Badgers to the NCAA Finals where they lost to Duke.
