Incumbent Satya Rhodes-Conway and challenger Gloria Reyes made it through the primary for Madison mayor on Tuesday.
Rhodes-Conway enjoyed a comfortable lead with 59 percent of the vote, with 92% of precincts reporting. Reyes ran second with 28 percent.
Long time city employee Scott Kerr was knocked out of the race, coming third with 12 percent.
Reyes was a Madison police officer and deputy mayor under Paul Soglin, and most recently worked as CEO of Briarpatch Youth Serivces.
The general election between Rhodes-Conway and Reyes is set for April 4.
