Seein is Believin’ to host community grief and resilience workshop on Friday
Healing through Art exercises at a Seein is Believin Youth Empowerment retreat

Seein is Believin’, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing mental health and life readiness resources to Madison-area youth, will host Pathways to Healing: A Community Grief & Resilience Workshop, an interactive community workshop designed to help youth, parents, and community members process grief, build resilience, and find hope through supportive activities and shared experiences, on Friday, Dec. 20, 4-6 p.m. at MyArts, 1055 East Mifflin St.

Prenicia Clifton

“As I heard about the tragic shooting at Abundant Life Christian School, I knew I had to take immediate action to support Madison parents and youth,” Prenicia Clifton, the founder of Seein is Believin’, tells Madison365. “This time of year can be especially difficult for young people, as they face challenges like poverty, loss of loved ones, food insecurity, and even violence at home. Our upcoming Pathways to Healing retreat is designed to address not only the grief and trauma stemming from the recent tragedy but also the broader struggles many youth experience during the holiday season. It’s a space for healing, hope, and building resilience together.”

Friday’s event is an opportunity to learn coping tools, connect with others, and access helpful resources. Pathways to Healing will feature age-appropriate breakout sessions led by community advocates and certified youth mental health first aid trainers who will offer tools for emotional expression, stress management, and community healing. There will also be age-appropriate sessions for youth and parents and interactive activities like creative art therapy, storytelling, and guided mindfulness exercises.

This event is free and open to all ages, including individuals, families, caregivers, and educators seeking a safe, supportive space for emotional processing and community connection.
