Milwaukee’s Summerfest, which had announced in March that it was moving this year’s festival back to September due to the coronavirus pandemic, has canceled the event for 2020.
“After careful, diligent, and thoughtful consideration and out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our community, Summerfest presented by
@amfam will not take place as previously announced,” Summerfest announced on social media Thursday morning.

The Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. board of directors made the decision to cancel Summerfest 2020 at a regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday.
Summerfest dubs itself as “The World’s Largest Music Festival” and attracts approximately 800,000 people each summer.
