The UW Health Carbone Cancer Center will host its 10th annual Roll and Stroll for Pancreas Cancer on Sunday, Aug. 13, at Capital Brewery in Middleton.

The annual event is organized by the Pancreas Cancer Task Force, a group of volunteers dedicated to raising funds for pancreas cancer research while supporting patients throughout their cancer journey. Gerianne Holzman, chair of Roll and Stroll 2023, says “Gathering survivors, along with their family, friends, and care teams shows everyone impacted by this disease that they are not alone.”

Participants can choose from a 50K, 25K, or 5K bike ride, as well as a 5K run or a two-mile roll and stroll, which is open to walkers, scooters, wheelchairs, skateboards, and dogs. This event will also feature music, raffles, games, food, and more. Same-day registration and check-in begin at 8:30 a.m.

The American Cancer Society found that pancreas cancer is the third-leading cause of all cancer-related deaths in Wisconsin and across the nation. This year’s event is in dedication to former UW–Madison Chancellor Rebecca Blank, who passed away from the disease earlier this year.
