With the coming retirement of Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce CEO Jorge Antezana after nearly a decade of service to the Latino Chamber, the board of directors of the Madison-area non-profit has announced that they have initiated a Request for Proposal (RFP) process to select an executive search firm to identify the next leader of the organization.
First hired as director of business development in 2017, Antezana, a native of Peru, has worked with the Chamber to maximize economic development opportunities for the Latino business community.
“On behalf of the board, we extend our appreciation to Jorge for his collaboration and commitment to enhancing the visibility of the Latino business community,” said Board Chairman Marcio Sierra in a press release. “This marks an exciting turning point for the Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce. As we look to the future, we aim to cast a wide net to find a visionary leader who will champion our mission and continue expanding opportunities for Latino entrepreneurs and businesses.”
To support its effort in finding new leadership, the Chamber has issued a Request for Proposal seeking an executive search partner to facilitate a collaborative search process for identifying, vetting and placing candidates for its next dynamic leader, the Chamber said in a press release, who will “drive the organization forward in fulfilling its mission to maximize economic development and job creation through advocacy for the Latino and non-Latino business community.”
Firms interested in being considered are encouraged to indicate their intent to submit a proposal via the provided interest form by Wednesday, March 19.
“It’s been an honor to serve and advocate for our entrepreneurs with support from the board of directors, staff, members, stakeholders and community partners. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished as an organization, including successfully launching business acceleration programs and forming strategic alliances with local government agencies and educational institutions to support business development and community-driven initiatives,” Antezana said. “As I prepare for this next chapter, I’m confident that the Chamber’s next leader will steer the organization to even greater heights and continue uplifting Latino businesses across our community.”
Antezana’s retirement will take effect on April 5.
