With Milwaukee’s latest numbers released this afternoon, Wisconsin now has a total of 2,642 positive cases of the corona virus and a total of 92 deaths, 10 more than yesterday’s total of 82.
Dane County has 303 cases and 11 deaths. Milwaukee County has 1,387 cases and 51 deaths.
The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, which has issued projections relied upon by national media outlets and government agencies, projected that Wisconsin would experience 15 deaths per day at this time.
Statewide, 745 people are or have been hospitalized. Of that 745 that have been hospitalized, 200, or around 27% have been placed in an intensive care unit. Of those 92 deaths, about 54% were 50 and older and 61% of those 92 total deaths have been male while 53% of the total positives are female.
In Milwaukee County, 36 of the 51 people who died were Black, 13 were white and two were Latino. Data on race and ethnicity of those who’ve died has not been reported for any other counties.
