George Clinton, “The Godfather of Funk” and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will be back in Madison in late October as one of the headliners of Freakfest, Madison’s annual Halloween party on State Street.

In late May, George Clinton was the headliner at Madison’s annual “World’s Largest Brat Fest.”

George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic will perform on the main Mountain Dew Capitol Square stage that will also feature D.R.A.M., Kweku Collins, Clyde Stubblefield All-Stars, and DJay Mando.

There will be two other stages in the festival, each with its own set of performers.

The Steve Brown Apartments and Z104 Stage on Gilman Street will feature Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave., MUTE-MATH, The Main Squeeze, Mama Digdown’s Brass Band, and Birds Eye.

The Ian’s Pizza and WSUM Stage at Frances Street will feature Twelves, Greenhaus, The Begowatts, Nester, and Mr. Martin & The Sensitive Guys.

This year will mark the 12th Freakfest, which has been held since 2006.
