Madison365, the nonprofit online news magazine for and by Madison’s communities of color, and iHeart Media announced today that the two organizations will jointly produce a regularly scheduled radio show to air on WIBA-AM in Madison. The show will also be available for download as a podcast.

“We’re taking on tough issues and asking tough questions, questions that are critical for the future of Madison,” said Madison365 Publisher and CEO Henry Sanders, who will co-host the show with radio veteran and Madison in the Morning host Derrell Connor. “We launched as an online magazine, but we’ve always envisioned letting all voices be heard through every platform available. I’m grateful to WIBA and iHeart Media for partnering with us to amplify those untold stories and unheard voices.”

Connor, who began on 1310 WIBA as host of the minority focused program Out Reach, said, “I am very proud and excited to work with Madison 365 on this new project. I have been a fan of Madison365 since they launched several months ago. They have made an immediate impact in the Greater Madison community, as well as throughout the state. The new radio show will be a great way for Madison 365 to increase their presence, and build their brand.”

Madison365 has recently announced content-sharing partnerships with Channel 3000 and OnMilwaukee.com, and the Wisconsin State Journal recently published Madison365’s list of the 28 most influential African Americans in Wisconsin in print.

The date of the first broadcast and broadcast schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
