Arts + Literature Laboratory (ALL) presents Speech Ballon – Narrative in Art, on view from August 12 through September 1, featuring the work of three Madison artists: Colin Holden, Jeremy Pinc and Alex Williams. In comics, animation and narrative art images are more than images, they are a field from which characters emerge. These characters have their own stories, exist in their own world, and prompt us to ask questions about who they are and what they are doing. The artists embrace the ability of images to tell stories through this exhibition of recent drawings, paintings and screenprints.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, August 12, 7-p .m. It is free. The artists welcome special guests Theo Howard and Heather Mulligan who will be drawing caricatures during the reception.

Arts + Literature Laboratory (ALL) is a community art space for visual, literary and performing artists to share their work and create new connections. Other programming includes the monthly Watershed Reading Series, write-ins, workshops, lectures, concerts, the smALL Press Library, and more.
